How fast is your website?

Run Google's own PageSpeed test on any website and get the answer in plain English: your scores, how long customers wait, and what's slowing it down. Free, no sign-up, about 30 seconds.

Test as
  • Scores straight from Google PageSpeed Insights
  • Results explained without the tech talk
  • Every site we build scores 90 or higher

What the four scores mean

Each one is out of 100. Google colors 90 and up green, 50 to 89 orange, and under 50 red.

Performance

How fast your page shows up and becomes usable on a phone. It's the one customers feel, and the hardest to get high.

Accessibility

Whether everyone can use your site, including people with low vision or who use a screen reader. Good accessibility also makes a site easier for everyone.

Best practices

Whether the site is built safely and properly: secure connection, no errors, nothing out of date.

SEO

Whether Google can read and understand your page: titles, descriptions, links and text it can find.

Why a slow website costs you customers

Most of your customers find you on a phone, often in a hurry. If the page is slow, they tap back and call the next business.

People leave slow pages

Google found that more than half of mobile visits are abandoned when a page takes longer than 3 seconds to load. Google research.

Google notices too

Google uses page experience, including how fast your main content loads and whether the page jumps around, when it ranks results. Google Search Central.

Most slowness is fixable

Oversized photos, heavy page builders and outside add-ons cause most slow small business sites. They can usually be fixed or replaced.

Speed test questions

Is the website speed test really free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no card. The test is run by Google PageSpeed Insights, the same tool web developers use, and we explain the results in plain English.

What is a good PageSpeed score?

Google colors 90 to 100 green (good), 50 to 89 orange (needs work) and 0 to 49 red (poor). Phone scores are usually lower than computer scores, because Google tests on a slower phone and connection. A phone score of 90 or more is very good for a small business site.

Why does my score change each time I test?

Every test loads your site fresh over the internet, so a few points up or down is normal. Big swings usually mean slow hosting or outside add-ons like chat widgets and trackers that load at different speeds.

Does website speed affect Google rankings?

Yes, as one of many signals. Google uses page experience, including how fast the main content loads and whether the page jumps around, when ranking pages. Speed matters even more for customers: people leave slow pages before they ever call.

Should I test the phone or computer version?

Start with phone. Most local customers find businesses on their phones, and Google looks at the phone version of your site first.

Do you keep the addresses I test?

We keep a simple list of the website addresses tested and their scores, so we can see how the tool is used. We don't collect anything about you unless you choose to send us your details.
